We've been taking our cars to Mike ever since I bought my little blue Civic in 1986. Since then, we've stuck with Honda and Toyota, in large part because we don't want to change to another repair shop. We've always had excellent service and our cars run great. We've all gotten a little grayer over the years, and the little blue Civic has long since been replaced (but we had it to 225,000 miles, thanks to Mike), but the service at Automotive Excellence has remained just that, excellent.

Sohni, The highest complement anyone could pay us is to purchase a certain make of vehicle just to continue to use our services. I have known Mike for over 25 years. He is an honest, knowledgeable, and professional business owner. He has done work on my two Acuras and one Honda. The mechanics are always able to complete the necessary service and repairs in a timely manner and at a reasonable rate. I highly recommend them to others and trust Mike and his mechanics implicitly.

My wife's Sienna had a problem with one of the stop lamps and I went to PepBoys for a replacement. The guy looked it up in the computer and got me the part. I got home and it didn't fit. Went back 4 more times - each time they looked it up and sold me the wrong part. Not only did the bulbs not fit, but at some point the car failed to shift out of park! I figured it was somehow related to the bulb issue but was at a loss. I ended up getting the car over to Automotive Excellence and they took a look at it. The technician was able to recite the correct bulb part from memory (which was not one that PepBoys indicated) and showed me how to override the shifting problem. But he suspected an electrical problem, most likely a blown fuse due to an incorrect bulb. Even though they were closing, he took the time to find and replace the fuse. Problem solved! Automotive Excellence was very professional and wanted to "do the job right". So this must have cost a lot then, huh? Nope - they refused to take any money, even though I offered to pay. So I'm not going to trust PepBoys again when both the people and computers are wrong about part numbers. But I do have total confidence in Automotive Excellence! I have had my Honda Civic for 9 years, with over 150,000 miles and it runs like new. I have all my work done from day one from Automotive Excellence. Choosing an auto repair shop is much like choosing a doctor. You want a doctor that is knowledgeable, honest, conscientious, and most importantly, someone you feel comfortable with and has your best interest and safety at heart. That's what I found at Automotive Excellence 30 years ago. Mike and Automotive Excellence were just the right mix. Automotive Excellence is everything I required in an auto repair shop. I drive an average of 100 miles/day so I rely heavily on my car. I need my car to start up every morning and get me home safely every night. I live 45 minutes north of Automotive Excellence but their convenient location was close to work and they provide courtesy loaner cars as well. I had just bought a new Honda Prelude and was very particular about which auto repair shop I was going to let work on it. You’ve all heard about or had experience with auto repair shops that you take your car to and then something else goes wrong with it soon after getting it back. It’s hard to know who you can trust. Mike had extensive experience servicing Hondas and I immediately felt at ease with him. He would tell me exactly what my car needed and whether it needed to be done now or if it could wait until the next service. There was no pressure or hard sell tactics like some auto repair shops I’ve dealt with in the past. For the next 6 years I took my cars to Automotive Excellence for all my auto repair needs and have referred friends and family who were very satisfied as well. A job relocation forced me to find an auto repair shop closer to home and work. It was a nightmare. I brought my car to one local auto repair shop to fix a “wobble” that would happen when I braked and slowed to a stop. The “Best Shop in Town” said I needed new rear brakes. Problem not solved. Then they determined I needed a wheel alignment. When the problem still existed, I took it back to Mike and his Automotive Excellence team and they diagnosed the problem as a defective tire. Tire replaced, “wobble” gone. If I had gone to Automotive Excellence first it would have saved me hundreds of dollars. Another time I brought that same car to an auto repair shop across the street from work to have my radiator replaced. Everything was fine although I did notice a little difference in the way the gears were changing and I had to press down on the gas pedal more going uphill. One day my car barely made it up a hill. I took the car back to Automotive Excellence and they asked if I had replaced the radiator recently. Yes, I did, why? Well, when the radiator was replaced, whoever did the work did not tighten the transmission cooler lines and I barely had any transmission fluid left. That was all I needed. I should have followed my own advice, when you find the right mix, stick with it. I’m a satisfied customer. I've taken all my Hondas, Acuras, and currently my 2010 Honda Civic as well as my Chevy Tahoe and VW Bug to Automotive Excellence. Mike and his team strive to provide you with personal one-on-one assistance. They thoroughly explain all services and repairs and make every effort possible to ensure that your vehicle is performing at its best. Don't go anywhere else.

The experience has always been great, and, more importantly, my OLD hatchback continues to run great--still getting 40 mpg, which is about 4 mpg more than it's supposed to get! (And yes, the prices are very reasonable.) In fact, when I bought my car in 2000, I picked a Honda just so I could remain an Automotive Excellence customer; no job (or car) is too big or too small for Mike and team. Mike and the team at Automotive Excellence are the best car repair shop in Sonoma County. They do all the little things that make me feel like a valued customer, whether it be giving me an extra discount even though I didn't bring in a coupon, to vacuuming and washing my car after a service. They're open Saturdays which is a huge help with my busy work schedule, and whenever they need to keep my car over night they have free loaner cars available. I highly recommend them!
